A two day “Cycling Chiang Mai tour” takes you to see beautiful jungles, rice fields, farms, mountains, waterfalls and friendly people of the Mae Wang. We cycle on both tar and dirt roads. We visit a local market, have lunch at a local restaurant, stop at hot springs, local villages, a waterfall and spend a night at Spicy Villa Eco-Lodges. At Spicy Villa, you can pick herbs from our organic garden and learn how to use them in traditional Thai food while we cook our dinner.
Trip Summary:

Day 1 – Our two day “Cycling Chiang Mai tour” starts at 8 am when we pick you up in Chiang Mai. We have a short drive to the countryside and a drop off point where we collect our bicycles. We country cycle through paddy fields and local hill tribe villages to the local Buddhist temple on a hill.
Your guide tells you about the history of the temple and explains Buddhist culture. Then we descend the hill and country cycle in the valley to a local market; here we buy food for the rest of our trip and you can learn about Thai food and ingredients.
After the market, we continue cycling surrounded by beautiful views and stop at a Thai family restaurant where we have lunch.
After lunch, we cycle to Mae Wang waterfall where you can swim, play under the falls, jump from rock to rock and relax.
Next we drive up a mountain to Spicy Villa Eco-Lodge
with a beautiful view of the jungle, rice fields, and villages. Here you can pick ingredients from our organic garden and learn how to use them to cook Thai food. You have a cooking class and learn to prepare some traditional Thai dishes!
You spend a night in a private bungalow high in the mountains.
Day 2 – We wake up early to the beautiful morning view from Spicy Villa and see the mists clearing below us. We cook food to offer to the Buddhist monks at the local temple. After Thai breakfast, we drive to the temple and give alms and make merit.
Then we drive on to our cycling drop off point and begin to country cycle through the jungle to Karen tribal villages on dirt roads. After a lunch break, we drive to the hot springs, where you have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the hot spring sauna.
