Itinerary

Day 1

Your guide picks you up from your accommodation in Chiang Mai at 8 AM. On the way to Doi Inthanon national park, you stop at a local market to stock up on supplies. After 2 hr drive, you arrive at Mae Ya waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the whole Thailand.

Here you have lunch and relax before driving to the top of the highest Thai mountain. We do a short walk near the peak and then visit King and Queen pagodas and trek for about an hour and a half on a scenic trail.

From there we drive to the headquarters of Doi Inthanon national park and have lunch before going on a short trek to Mae Klang Luang village. We stop at a waterfall on the way where you can refresh. The area surrounding Mae Klang Luang village is extremely beautiful and the villagers work on ample coffee plantations surrounding the village. You spend the night in these wonderful surroundings as a guest in the village.

Day 2

With breakfast you have a chance to taste fresh local coffee that gives you plenty of energy for the day ahead. Then we drive to visit a local Hmong tribe village and explore Royal Organic Agricultural Project. You can check out local farming techniques and learn about the hill tribe way of life. Then we hike uphill until lunch which we cook jungle-style.

In the afternoon we trek downhill to a local waterfall where we spend the night in a simple wooden hut.

Day 3

After breakfast we set off on a whole day trek with plenty of opportunities to make stops at waterfalls and viewpoints to rest and enjoy the pristine countryside.

We stop along the way to cook jungle-style lunch together. We learn how to cook in bamboo stems over open fire as locals have done for centuries.

We spend the night in another Karen village and you have an opportunity to learn how to cook traditional Karen dishes from your guide.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4

After breakfast we explore the village and visit village school which is a part of our Share the Dream Project that helps kids in the village get a head start in life through education. You can meet the students and help them practice English or just play some games. Then we hike to a waterfall and stop for lunch and cook using traditional bamboo cooking methods.
