Itinerary

We pick you up at 7 AM in Chiang Mai and drive to Baan Kart market in Mae Wang where you can buy any items you’ll need for the tour, such as water, snacks, or a raincoat. From the market, we have a short drive to our trekking start point at Mae Sa Pok village. Our morning trek is mostly uphill in the lush forest and along the way, we pass secluded waterfalls where we can stop and make a break. At lunchtime, we make a longer break for a jungle style lunch. Enjoy a northern Thai feast served on banana leafs! Without the lunch break, this trek takes three to four hours, depending on your pace and the number of stops along the way. At the top of the trail is a scenic viepoint and a great location for a break after the uphill trek.

Afternoon part of the trek is mostly downhill and we start seeing more farmland and rice paddies as we approach Khun Puay Karen village. During rice planting and rice harvesting months, we can stop at help the farmers in the fields. For this part of the trek, we have many different trail options and can do a short trek of under two hours or a longer trek of over three hours. Let your local guide know your wishes and he will select the most suitable trail for you. When we reach the Karen village, your guide shows you around the village and tells you how this community lives.

Our transportation already waits in the village and we drive back to Chiang Mai in the afternoon. What time we reach Chiang Mai, depends on your wishes and pace during the trek. If you choose a longer trek, we’ll be back quite late in the afternoon.
