16-Day – The Best of Southern Thailand Tour

This trip is designed for the beach enthusiast who wishes to explore both sides of Southern Thailand. From tropical white sand beaches to idyllic rainforests, canoeing on a picturesque lake to sea kayaking around amazing rock formations, snorkeling in crystal clear water and camping on our very own desert island. All your dreams of a relaxing but fun-filled holiday will come true!

Trip Summary:

Day 1: Bangkok
We all meet in the Hotel lobby where you will be introduced to your highly energetic and friendly tour guide. The group will be provided with information about the logistics of the trip. That evening the guide will take you to the colourful markets of Bangkok where you will get to taste the local cuisine.

Day 2: Leave Bangkok ready to head for Koh Tao
After breakfast we will visit the Grand Palace, the reclining Buddha temple and take a river boat trip. Transport will be provided by local facilities to ensure that we support the local communities. Our day will end with a train journey to our next destination.

Day 3: Chumpon
We will arrive early morning in Chumpon city then catch a catamaran ferry to Koh Tao. In the afternoon we will explore the island, enjoy a beautiful sunset and experience the night life.

Day 4: Koh Tao
Free day! Koh Tao is famous for diving so make the most of your chance to go for a short dive or take a day trip around Koh Tao and the surrounding islands for snorkeling.

Day 5: Koh Samui
We will catch a catamaran to Koh Samui which will take about 2 and a half hours. We will explore the island by songthaew (local transport), visiting the big Buddha temple, the grandmother and grandfather rocks, the mummified monk and a waterfall before taking in the sunset.

Day 6: Koh Samui
Free day! Your chance to swim, sunbathe, chill out by the beach and indulge in a traditional massage. You may also be interested in exploring the night market and checking out the beach night life.

Day 7: Koh Samui
Learn how to cook your favourite Thai dishes with a half day Thai cooking class. We will start by visiting a local market to get ingredients then head back to our bungalows to cook. In the afternoon you can chill out on the beach.

Day 8: Khao Sok National Park
We will catch a ferry back to the main land (Suratthani) for 2 hours then drive by songthaew for 2 and a half hours to Chewlaan dam in the national park. From there we will take a long-tail boat to our lakeside bungalows. Here you may partake in canoeing and see local wildlife in its natural habitat.

Day 9: Railay, Krabi
Time for an early morning swim or canoe around our bungalows. There is plenty of wildlife (including monkeys!) and there are stunning views of rock formations. Then we will take a long-tail boat back to the mainland and drive for 2 hours across to the west side where we will catch a long-tail boat to Rai lay. Here you will see the beauty of Rai lay Bay with amazing rock formations and a white sand beach. We can take in the sunset, meet the friendly local people and walk along the island, ending up at a local restaurant and bar.

Day 10: Railay, Krabi
Free day! You can choose to do a rock climbing course or sea kayak around the impressive rocky bay. Also plenty of time for swimming and sun bathing on the lovely beach till sunset before chilling out at a local bar with live music.

Day 11: Bamboo Island
We will catch a speed boat to Bamboo island which will take about 45 minutes and set up our tents for camping overnight. The island is all yours after 4 pm, so breathe in the sea air and enjoy the tranquility. It’s a great spot for snorkeling and watching the sunset. In the evening we will have a campfire and enjoy a yummy dinner.

Day 12: Koh Phi Phi
Get up early in the morning and go snorkeling to say hello to our lovely underwater friends before any other tourists arrive. Then we will jump on a speed boat to Phi Phi island where you can visit Maya bay – the beautiful lagoon where the movie ‘The Beach’ was filmed. From there we will continue to Phi Phi Don where we will stay the night.

Day 13: Koh Phi Phi
Free half day! Then we will take a long-tail boat to monkey beach for snorkeling. Here you will see heaps of monkeys as well as the underwater wildlife. After that we will head back to west Phi Phi Don in time for sunset before getting ready for a fun night on the beach.

Day 14: Koh Phi Phi
Free day! Just chill out and maybe enjoy some sea food. There is also a stunning viewpoint you can check out.

Day 15: Phuket island
We will take a ferry from Phi Phi to Phuket for about 2 and a half hours then transfer to a hotel in the city. Here you are free to explore the city with its market and outdoor activities or you can just head down to one of the main beaches: Patong, Kata or Karon. In the evening we will enjoy our last supper together.

Day 16: Phuket
Our trip finishes after breakfast. Time to say goodbye and take away lots of amazing memories.
